Help with using this site

Elmbridge Housing Trust hopes that all users have easy access to information on their website.  Please read on to find out about speech enabling with Browsealoud, site navigation without using your mouse and text sizing.

Text sizing
We have tried to ensure that this site is as easy and clear to follow as possible. Text is always in a clear and easy font to read, however if you wish to make this bigger then please follow these simple instructions.

Image 1 below shows that if you move your mouse to the menu bar at the top the screen you will see a button called 'View'.

If you click on this a number of options will appear, including 'Text Size'.

If you move your mouse over to the 'Largest' option, then this will increase the font size to its largest setting.


Site navigation

Navigation of this site is designed to be very simple and all links can be found on the left side of every screen. If you are having any problems with using a mouse to navigate the site, then you can use the tab key on your keyboard to move down the links and then press the enter key to move to your chosen page.


Voice enabling this site

This website is now fully voice enabled using a feature called 'Browsealoud'. As long as you have speaker on your PC that allows you to hear sound, and the Browsealoud program is installed, then a voice reader will transcribe the site for you. To install the Browse Aloud programme then simply follow these instructions:

1. Click here and then click on the 'Download Browsealoud' download button.

3. A prompt screen will then appear asking you if you wish to either save or run this file from its current location - you need to click OK.

4. This file will only take a few seconds to download once you click on ok. It will then ask you to select and language. The file with then take approximately 5 minutes to set itself up and once this is installation has finished, an icon will appear at the bottom right of your screen showing when a website is speech enable.
